  1. How many chances will I have to take this pre-qualifier?
    Tulsa Technology Center in Tulsa and Oklahoma College of Court Reporting in Oklahoma City will administer four pre-qualifier tests at each location for non-students before each Oklahoma CSR Examination. For the April 2012 CSR test there will be three pre-qualifier tests given in March 2012 and one in April of 2012. Each non-student applicant will select one or two test to attend. No non-student applicant will be allowed to take more than 2 tests each 6-month testing cycle.

  2. When will you start to offer the pre-qualifier?
    Starting March 2012. Dates for Oklahoma College of Court Reporting in Oklahoma City will be: March 2, 16 & 30, April 6 - 9:00 am start time. Tulsa Technology Center dates will be: March 1, 8 & 26, April 2 - 6:30 pm start time.

  3. How much will it cost me to take the pre-qualifier?
    $50 per test date.

  4. Who do I contact to sign up to take the pre-qualifier?
    You can contact the school that you wish to take the test(s). You will then be given instructions and directions to the test.

  5. How long will I have to keep the pre-qualifier once I pass?
    You will have up to 12 months to use the pre-qualifier.

  6. What will the pre-qualifier consist of?
    One Literary test @ 180 words per minute for 5 minutes. Followed immediately by 60 minutes of transcription time.

  7. How long will I have to type the test up?

  8. What will I need to bring to the pre-qualifier test?
    Just like the Oklahoma CSR Examination you will need to transcribe the test onsite and will need to bring printer, laptop or desktop computer and your writer. You will also need to bring your testing fee of $50.

  9. Will I be allowed to review time as is customary at the Oklahoma CSR test?

  10. What if I live out-of-state and want to take the next Oklahoma CSR examination?
    You will need to contact either Tulsa Technology Center of Oklahoma College of Court Reporting to take the pre-qualifier test and travel to that city. Hotel information will be provided once you contact the school you wish to participate.

  11. Can I take the test online or by distance means?
    Right now that option is not available and you would need to travel to Oklahoma City or Tulsa to be able to take this pre-qualifier test on the testing dates available.

  12. Where do my testing fees go?
    All testing fees collected for the pre-qualifier tests will go to the Oklahoma Court Reporters Association Student Scholarship Fund.

  13. What if I already have a CSR from another state or the RPR?
    You will need to contact the Oklahoma CSR Board reciprocity person.

  14. Can the court reporting school that I am currently enrolled in out-of-state administer this pre-qualifier for me?
    Yes, as long as the CSR Board Testing Chair has talked to the school you are attending to verify enrollment and the guidelines for issuing a pre-qualifying exam.
